The San Antonio Brahmas were able to defeat the St. Louis Battlehawks in the XFL Championship Game on Sunday night to reach the UFL Championship Game (confusing, we know). Moments after the win, Brahmas head coach Wade Phillips was captured on a hot mic in a quite hilarious moment, reacting to both the big win and a very cold Gatorade bath.
Phillips, who is best known as a former NFL head coach with the Dallas Cowboys, has done a great job of revitalizing his coaching career with the Brahmas at 76 years of age.
The Brahmas were the underdogs coming into the game but thanks to an impressive rushing attack from the Brahmas, they were able to come away with a 25-15 victory.
After the win, Phillips was seen celebrating on the sidelines with his hands above his head. As he went to walk onto the field, he was blindsided by one of his players doused him with a tub of cold Gatorade, which he was very much not ready for…
“Oh shit,” said Phillips, which was heard on a hot mic quite clearly, later being shared on X, formerly known as Twitter by the United Football League account.

Phillips was in good spirits after he got over the shock of the Gatorade bath, laughing it off as he shared hugs with many of his players.
The Brahmas and Phillips will now face off against the Birmingham Stallions, the USFL Champions, next week in the UFL championship. So maybe we will get to see Phillips take at least one more Gatorade bath if they can again overcome the odds and win that game.
