If you’re going to make a brash prediction about something, expect receipts if your prediction doesn’t come true. The University of South Florida’s Barstool X account can attest to that after Saturday’s game against Tulane.
The Bulls and Green Wave both opened their conference schedules in Saturday’s game against each other. Before the game, the ESPNU cameras picked up some of Tulane coach Jon Sumrall’s pregame speech.

Whoever runs the USF Barstool page was unimpressed.
“Tulane head coach hyping their players was so pathetic lmaooo,” the post on X, formerly Twitter, said. “USF ain’t losing to these wavelets.”

If one were to leave a glass of milk out in the middle of the desert for several hours on the hottest day of the year, it would not age any worse than that prediction.
Tulane dominated the game from the outset. The Green Wave scored on each of their first three possessions, producing two touchdowns and a field goal. The Bulls, meanwhile, managed only three punts on their first three possessions. Things only got worse for USF from there. Tulane opened up a 31-0 first-half lead before South Florida finally got on the board with a touchdown just before halftime. The second half was a similar story and the Green Wave handed the Bulls a 45-10 loss.
After the game, Sumrall cashed in his receipt.
He quote-tweeted the USF Barstool message about his pregame speech with the message, “Good.”

We’ll give the USF Barstool page credit. One, the post was not deleted. Second, the page responded to Sumrall’s message, acknowledging defeat.
“Just when I thought I was buried 6 feet under, the Tulane Head Coach decided to cremate me instead,” the reply said.

Sometimes the best thing to do is just take the L.
