Those that had eyes on their X feeds Tuesday afternoon perhaps caught some suspicious looking posts from longtime sports journalist Jemele Hill.
The posts, which have since been deleted, seemingly showed Hill endorsing her own “meme coin,” a form of cryptocurrency often used for pump-and-dump schemes. “My $JEMELE meem coin is now live on solana!” one post read. Another said, “I know you’re worried about me, but I wasn’t hacked,” along with a doctored picture of Hill holding a piece of paper with today’s date written on it
Front Office Sports reporter A.J. Perez confirmed Tuesday afternoon that Hill’s X account had been hacked.
.@jemelehill hasn’t had control of her account for about 24 hours. She tells @FOS that somebody gained access to her account and changed her email address. The hacker then posted (since-deleted) about a meme coin (that is not anyway connected to Hill). @sports @support @lindayaX pic.twitter.com/MmUKQauLys

“[Jemele Hill] hasn’t had control of her account for about 24 hours,” Perez reported. “She tells Front Office Sports that somebody gained access to her account and changed her email address. The hacker then posted (since-deleted) about a meme coin (that is not anyway connected to Hill).”
As of Tuesday evening, there are no signs of the hack on Hill’s X account, but her activity on the social media platform still hasn’t returned; her last post is from Sunday evening.
