Taylor Rooks attended Thursday night’s NBA Finals opener. And although the Prime Video and TNT Sports reporter was not working, she still ended up going viral, thanks to a strange photo that surfaced midgame. However, it wasn’t a photo from that game.
While the Boston Celtics were busy blowing out the Dallas Mavericks, a photo posted on X by @knicks_tape99 caught the attention of social media. The photo shows Rooks looking about as indifferent as a person can possibly look while a male Celtics fan leans toward her, attempting to explain something in animated fashion.
Rooks herself commented on the photo a short time later.
“Omg this photo is never going to die. sorry to that man,” she posted, with a laughing/crying emoji.

As Rooks later noted, the photo came from a different Celtics’ game last March:

The photo was funny enough in itself, but some of the reactions that rolled in were priceless. Those included one by @ArtButSports, which compared the photo to a reverse image of an 1873 work of art, Camille Monet on a Garden Bench, by Claude Monet. The resemblance is striking.

If I’m ever sitting next to Taylor Rooks at the NBA Finals (or anywhere) best believe I’m shooting my shot like a full court buzzer beater. https://t.co/Fosnup5wrp

Rooks is no stranger to having photos go viral. In April, a photo of her outfit at a GQ red carpet event sparked conversation.
