While doing a post-match show for TNT Sports following Saturday’s 0-0 draw between Aston Villa and Newcastle, Peter Crouch knew that while Sally can wait, his flight to Dublin to see Oasis could not.
Co-host Lynsey Hipgrave was aware of the situation and had some fun with Crouch.
“That’s about all we’ve got time for,” Hipgrave said. “Oh. Actually, sorry. My producers are just telling me we’ve got a lot more time. We can carry on talking for a bit.”
“Lynsey, you know I’m going to Oasis tonight,” Crouch replied. “It’s not happening.”
“Where are you going?” a laughing Hipgrave replied.
“I’m going to Oasis,” Crouch said. “I’ve got a flight to catch.”
“Where are you going to Oasis?” Hipgrave said.
“Let the man leave,” Joe Cole responded. “He’s done his job. He’s done enough.”
Then, slowly walking down the hall, faster than a cannonball, Crouch left to catch his flight.
“I’m going to Oasis tonight, it’s not happening”

“I’m so jealous,” Cole added.
“Go and get that flight,” Hipgrave said to Crouch, adding, “Don’t look back in anger.”
Fortunately, Crouch made it to the concert. He was photographed at the concert and tagged on Instagram.

It’s a good thing that the concert did not take place half the world away.
