Charles Barkley is retiring from television.

Following Game 4 of the NBA Finals on Friday, Barkley went on NBA TV and announced that he won’t work for any network other than TNT. He also said that even if TNT retains NBA coverage and keeps Inside the NBA, the 2024-25 season will be his last in television.

After his Hall of Fame playing career ended, Barkley became a prominent NBA commentator, working on Inside the NBA. He quickly became one of the most noted commentators in not just basketball, but all sports.

And even though news of his retirement came late Friday/early Saturday, tributes were not hard to find following Barkley’s announcement.

Indeed. Inside the NBA is already a must-watch show for NBA fans and even casuals. That will be even more true in Barkley’s final season.
