You never know just what you’re going to get when it comes to Inside the NBA. And that was the case once again on Thursday night as Charles Barkley gave America a crash course in how to fall properly on your behind.
The discussion started because Zion Williamson of the New Orleans Pelicans had to leave the game against the Sacramento Kings after it appeared he hurt his wrist bracing for a fall to the hardwood floor. As the Inside the NBA crew discussed what happened, Barkley declared, “Do not catch yourself man. I hate when players do that. Fall on your —- or something.”
When Kenny Smith and Shaquille O’Neal doubted Barkley’s expertise on how to crash to the ground, Chuck said that he actually practiced it during his time in the NBA with the Philadelphia Sixers. Of course, that led to a demonstration which caused the entire set to erupt in laughter. We even got Barkley’s fall in slow motion for good measure.

Usually it’s Shaquille O’Neal who does the physical comedy, but you have to admit that Barkley’s technique – even at his age and size – was pristine. So just remember the next time you fall, put your hands and wrists up and focus on going butt first to the ground. Of course, Sir Charles does have quite a large posterior that would brace the fall that not everyone may be blessed with having.
