Last we met Texas Legends announcer R.J. Choppy, he was working various wrestling catchphrases into his play by play. Now he’s taken it one step further and worked various viral favorites into his announcing arsenal. The latest effort reminds me of AA legend Randy Moller of the Florida Panthers and some of his most famous calls.
While working “ain’t nobody got time for that!” might not be what the national networks are looking for in a play by play man, what better place than to explore the space of all that’s possible in the announcing realm than the NBADL. Without these viral announcing clips, it’s hard to imagine anyone sharing highlights from the D-League. Follow your heart, Mr. Choppy.
