The White Sox and Orioles played the first MLB game in an empty stadium this afternoon in Camden Yards and it was a surreal experience all around. One of the unique qualities of the game was the broadcast itself. Here on the White Sox feed, you can hear Hawk Harrelson murmur through an Orioles home run. If you listen closely though, you can hear Orioles play by play man Gary Thorne excitedly call the home run in the background.
We can’t imagine too many times when you’ve been actually able to hear one home run call over another without many other sounds happening in the stadium.
