Sam Rosen is a New York-area legend through his work with MSG and the New York Rangers. His calls of their 1994 Stanley Cup run will, in fact, last a lifetime. He’s also a man with lots of national credentials, calling the NFL and NHL with Fox since they launched their sports division two decades ago.
Rosen is filling in for Kevin Burkhardt on Fox’s B-team these next couple of weeks while Burkhardt hosts the studio show for the World Series (Thom Brennaman, similarly, is subbing in for Joe Buck on the A-team). His crew, with John Lynch and Pam Oliver, called Carolina-Green Bay yesterday. The only problem is that Green Bay doesn’t have a hockey team, which may have been on Sam’s mind during this intro.

To me, what makes this more funny than anything is Rosen’s previous assignment was actually the Carolina Hurricanes, when they played the Rangers at MSG on Thursday. A simple mistake anyone could make, but it’s funny to see someone think of a market’s hockey team before their football team.
