First Rory McIlroy took the mantle of Tiger Woods’ video game, and now he’s doing it at Nike. At the dawn of Masters week, Nike released this lengthy spot chronicling a young McIlroy as he grew up hoping to emulate the success of Woods. It’s as close to a passing of the torch you’re going to get from a commercial sports aspect with Woods now playing the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi and McIlroy taking center stage as the young jedi.
Woods will return to action at this week’s Masters, but he does so ranked 111th in the world. Taking his spot at #1? McIlroy of course.
