One of the more campy thing to develop in sports over the last few years has been the need to come up with rhyming sing-songy catchphrases to describe the chase for the #1 pick in the draft. Therefore, the race to the bottom in the NFL this year has now been dubbed “Suck for the Duck” in honor of Marcus Mariota. It’s not quite “Suck for Luck” but it gets the point across.
The Daily News used the headline for the Jets-Titans game, which the Jets inexplicably won, putting the Titans and Bucs in the driver’s seat for Mariota.
Come to think of it, it’s impressive that we could find another appropriate and publishable word to rhyme with suck that describes the Jets season.
