There’s no doubt that Kobe Bryant’s legacy as one of the best NBA players ever is solid. While he has five championships rings, he has only one MVP award. Speaking to ESPN’s Grantland Basketball Hour, Bryant admits that the fact that he only has one career MVP sticks in his craw.

When asked why he thought he didn’t have more than one MVP award, Bryant replied, “Because the media votes on it.”

He added, “It was never a mission of mine to win a lot of MVPs. It was to win a lot of championships.

With that being said, does it bother me? Yeah, it bothers me. Of course it bothers me.”

So Kobe blames the media for not getting more than one MVP and admits it sticks with him, but at the same time, it’s nice to hear someone being honest instead of being diplomatic.
