Remember way back, oh, a couple weeks ago when it was major news that Mel Kiper Jr. had dropped Jameis Winston 22 spots on his big board? Remember when Kiper went on ESPN and talked about Winston’s maturity level and shouting an internet meme and yada, yada, yada?
Winston hasn’t shown any signs of getting out of trouble. In fact, he’s only deeper in personal and professional turmoil with investigations into obstructions towards his sexual assault case and now a looming autograph situation that threatens his eligibility.
But have no fear, Seminole fans, in spite of all that, Winston is on the move on Mel Kiper’s big board all the way up to #15!

This is the ridiculousness of ESPN making Kiper’s arbitrary draft rankings a news story and fodder for the ESPN Echo Chamber – because, once again, this doesn’t make much sense. Are Winston’s character issues still a major concern at #15? Is that the highest he can go? Or has Mel seen something in the past couple weeks to say all is forgiven? Maybe Winston’s alleged penmanship with those autographs shows a more finesse touch, who knows.
