While Verne Lundquist is mainly known for his work on CBS, calling the SEC, the Masters, and March Madness, he first rose to prominence as the radio voice of the Dallas Cowboys.

This past Sunday, Lundquist returned to the Cowboys radio booth for the first time in more than 30 years to call the team’s Sunday Night Football matchup with the Giants. Of course, the Cowboys won on a last minute touchdown pass by Tony Romo to Jason Witten, and Verne’s call was excellent.

It’s a shame CBS doesn’t use Verne in the booth for an NFL game every so often – that would be a nice treat for viewers. On the bright side, hearing his call of this wild comeback was pretty great.
