A couple more costly mistakes haunted the Mets in the final game of the World Series. Eric Hosmer scored the tying run on a wide throw from Lucas Duda in the top of the 9th inning while another David Murphy aided the game-winning rally in the 12th inning. It was the dominating narrative of the series – the Royals’ frenetic play and late game heroics pressuring the Mets into making mistakes.

“The Mets have nothing to hold their heads down for, except they didn’t play that well and they gave away this World Series.”
It’s ok Mets. You tried hard and gave a great effort. Aside from the mind-numbing gaffes that will haunt your souls for the rest of eternity, it was a great season that you can look back on with fondness.
