Tonight’s Mavericks-Clippers game will take centerstage after maybe the greatest offseason soap opera not involving Jim Gray and LeBron James in the history of the NBA. DeAndre Jordan will face the team that he came so very close to signing with, but ultimately jilted for the first time since their free agency dalliance.
ESPN pulled out all the stops to promote the game – a dejected looking Mark Cuban, tons of Jordan highlights, and of course… Phil Collins. This is The Young & The Restless Friday cliffhanger good.
A special shoutout to LaMarcus Aldridge, who plays his first game against his former team as well, but imagining Gregg Popovich in an advertisement that depicts people feeling human emotion is a strange thing.
