With bowl season beginning and the end of the college football season on the horizon, ESPN decided to release a massive infographic touting their obscene amount of college football coverage in 2014. We’re not going to post the infographic here because, quite frankly, it’s massive. However, we *will* share the highlights from it.
NOTE: this data does include games on ESPN3/WatchESPN.
-221 teams from every conference in FBS and FCS were featured.
-23 conferences and every independent team were featured.
-125 of the 128 FBS teams were featured (I’d love to know the three that weren’t).
-96 of the 124 FCS teams were featured.
-College GameDay went to 16 venues.
-24 different teams were featured on GameDay.
-1.2 billion minutes viewed on WatchESPN.
-185 million people reached with ESPN’s television platforms.
-38 bowl games will be aired.
-23 games of the FCS playoff (the whole shebang) will be aired.
-175 stadiums were hosts to ESPN-aired games.
Whew. That’s a lot of work. You can’t argue ESPN’s commitment to the sport, that’s for sure.
Again, check out the full infographic here.
