Closed captioning mishaps are always entertaining, sometimes even leading to new nicknames, and Saturday’s Ole Miss – Memphis game produced a great one. Via Italian journalist Andrea Campagna, here are some shots of what the closed captioning was doing on his TV:

It’s not just gibberish, but rather seems to be almost a stuttered repetition of certain words. It leads to some good ones too; maybe “MemphisMe.mphis” should become the Tigers’ official website? Here’s a Vine Campagna sent alone of this in action:

At least the closed captioning turned in a better performance than Ole Miss did in the second quarter, where they were outscored 17-0 to trail 24-14 at the half.
