During Saturday’s annual New York Jets-New York Giants preseason game, G-Men voice Bob Papa noted analyst Carl Banks’ birthday on the air. Now you could celebrate by having on-air graphic saying, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CARL” or by just stating it during a dead moment during the game.
But not this year. Bob decided to bring out a cake for Carl and you can pretty much guess where this is heading:
.@BobPapa_NFL presents @Giants legend @CarlBanksGIII with a birthday cake. And drops it.
Come on Papa! http://t.co/HTlIGGfz8g
— NFL (@NFL) August 30, 2015
Now, this looked like a telegraphed bit as Bob said, “Oh, I dropped the cake,” but you never know. It did look like a lovely cake that unfortunately is now wasted with a clean-up on aisle four.
