Bill Walton did a very Bill Walton thing last night in Eugene – he took a minute out of the Oregon-Washington broadcast to talk about the failed War on Drugs and the legalization of weed.
Walton usually tiptoes around subjects like this with a wink and a nod and is clever and self-aware enough to subtlety get his message across. But this was not that. This was a full-blown stump speech to legalize pot, even invoking the name of President Obama. You never know what you’re going to get from the big redhead, but I can’t believe it’s taken this long for him to go on this particular tangent.
