Sometimes you never know who you will find in a “man on the street” interview. In advance of Saturday’s Merseyside Derby between Everton and Liverpool, BBC reporter Stuart Flinders tried to find people who remembered the 1967 Derby and actually found someone who played in the game!

Yes, goalkeeper Tommy Lawrence and he’s absolutely correct! According to the BBC, Lawrence not just played in the 1967 Merseyside Derby, but he played for Liverpool for more than ten years!

Lawrence told Flinders that Alan Ball scored the game-winning goal in that game.

Hard to believe that after all these years, the BBC can find someone who played in the game by just running into someone on the street.
