In this day and age of heightened security and terrorist plots, doing a kidnapping in the name of a TV prank is not a good idea. But that’s what happened to Algerian soccer player Madjid Bougherra who was in a café with a friend when the “kidnapping” starts to take place. Actors brandishing weapons take people hostage including Bougherra. He’s obviously terrified as he and actors posing as customers are herded into a closet.

Then Bougherra and is driven to the desert where it appears he’s about to be executed, but as that’s about to happen the prank is then revealed. Is this part of the Algerian sense of humor? This is so strange. Just watch the video which goes for almost 14 minutes and see if you laugh.
