New year, same preemptions for the sports pope. Mike Francesa started the year with 90 minutes on Monday on Fox Sports 1 before jumping over to FS2 for an FA Cup game. As he came on the air, he complained about dealing with the same “nonsense” over his national simulcast issues.
Of course, soccer outrates Francesa by a wide, wide margin so you can’t blame Fox for constantly kicking the pope to the curb for live events in spite of the grumbling. The Francesa-Fox marriage has been about as successful as Kris Humphries and Kim Kardashian… except that it’s miraculously lasted a lot longer. So… Happy New Year? I guess?
