USA Sports president outlines Versant’s business strategy

Golf Channel and CNBC will air most of the additional rounds.
USA Network will air 22 regular season football games and 50 regular season men's basketball games under the new deal.
Versant is giving its sports programming a clear identity with the launch of USA Sports, ahead of its 2026 spinoff from NBCUniversal.
The decision comes as NBC prepares to spinoff its cable assets into Versant.
The network will also add Wednesday night doubleheaders next season.

NBC and Versant are reportedly working through terms of their spinoff with the league.
The competition will likely take on a U.S. versus international format.
The networks will remove any peacock imagery from their logos.
"All other things being equal, we'd like to continue to work with and partner with NBCU and Peacock going forward."

It's unclear if the partnership will extend beyond then.
The new entity will launch by the end of 2025.
