ESPN revealed its new, 'sharp' scorebug for the upcoming 2024-25 college football season on Thursday afternoon.
"With the Phillies getting their 60th win...Dodgers win it by a run!"
"Currentpitcher Lastname" pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Saturday afternoon.
"There will be time put on the clock, I believe, though. He shot it with about six seconds."
The new CW ACC basketball scorebug seems to be generally well received.
The ESPN Monday Night Football scorebug underwent another cosmetic change, as the Worldwide Leader debuted another on Monday evening.
Fox debuted a new college football scorebug for the 2023 season and fans weren't happy with how much real estate it took on screen.
Feed delay was not the reason.
The new scorebug drew mixed reviews.
Having a 1-2 count and two outs in the ninth inning of a World Series clinching game is very different from no outs and a 0-0 count.
Fox added the Madden logo to their on-screen graphics during the first quarter of Sunday games.
This scorebug is significantly larger than the old one, and significantly larger than what Fox is currently using in other sports.
The new scorebug is much more vertical, and also moves the game clock left of the teams and scores.
The move away from CBS' long-used blue feels particularly striking.
Fox has overhauled their previously-vanilla scorebugs across many of their sports properties.
Fox debuted a new NFL graphics package for the Super Bowl, and made plenty of changes.
"I've been thinking of this and said 'You know, if I had me working for me, I would have fired me a long time ago.' And there's a lot of truth to that. But it points to one of the great blessings of my career; people who didn't fire me. Really, these folks deserve their own Hall of Fame."
