Lincoln Riley calls out Notre Dame for rejecting USC’s proposal to extend rivalry series
"We at SC would love for the game to continue, and we have no problem following through on our promises in the future."
"We at SC would love for the game to continue, and we have no problem following through on our promises in the future."
The former USC captain ripped Lincoln Riley and the school's leadership after the Trojans agreed to pause their rivalry with Notre Dame starting in 2026.
"Because who are they anymore?"
"This is a professional thing. You ought to try it."
"I would be telling my agent, if I was Lincoln, 'Fine me a good job. Get me out of here.'"
"Keep an eye on Lincoln Riley at USC.
"The last few years with Lincoln Riley there, they've not proven to be the team that could adjust to the Big Ten and become a perennial power."
The fine was a whopping $5,000.
"What a massive mistake on a touchdown play!"
"We don't make the schedule. Clearly."
"Support your team...Wherever you live."
"Who the hell is Lincoln Riley in the grand scheme of things when it comes to USC and Notre Dame?"
Merely a scheduling tweak that apparently doesn’t leave any room for media observation.
"Alright, well they say you can't take 'em with you. Lincoln Riley obviously believes in that."
"Who cares what he says on that? Like what, player’s opinion? Let’s ask a more professional question."
"Every Southern Cal fan in America has every single right to come after me and do it, just bury me."
"I think Deion Sanders, as the coach of Southern Cal, is the answer to the problems."
"He brought a Heisman Trophy there. That counts!"
"I think that train has left the station."
Gus didn't check the newswire this morning...
"Forget about the impact on the media. This does a disservice to the USC players."
USC decided on Thursday to walk back a suspension the program issued to a local reporter for the Orange County Register.
"This is a huge overreaction to what the USC program perceived to be a policy violation. We clearly disagree and stand fully behind Luca."
The coach's show will return with a new name, a new star, and new promises that he'll stay there forever. Until, one way or another, he doesn't.
