Two names that have been considered to replace McCourty are former NFL player Manti Te’o and Akbar Gbajabiamila.

Barber had been calling some NFL on CBS games since 2019, but is now taking on a weekly role, while McCourty is joining the network to call selected games.
It's made the latter stages of the draft a bit more interesting for both good and bad reasons.
McCourty retired after a 13-year NFL career this past week.
