Four NBA teams likely to renew FanDuel Sports Network deals
The Atlanta Hawks, Miami Heat, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Milwaukee Bucks are likely to extend agreements with the regional sports network.
The Atlanta Hawks, Miami Heat, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Milwaukee Bucks are likely to extend agreements with the regional sports network.
A deal is expected before Opening Day, but nothing has been finalized.
“We have a huge opportunity to do that and to make those pregame shows more dynamic, more urgent, and rate higher.”
The add-on will cost $19.99 per month.
"To be asked to work with my really talented son, Stefan, and see his career starting at the same time is a wonderful honor and a dream come true for our entire family."
"That’s an important distinction..."
A partnership would give ESPN the ability to stay involved with MLB after its opt out.
Subscribers in designated team areas can access FanDuel’s live, local sports coverage for an additional fee of $19.99 per month.
"It's not the same anymore, and it definitely took a toll on just the fun part of it."
"We want to thank Jim for his many contributions to our Cardinals coverage."
"We have the ability to go lower, and we’re going to test different price points."
"I'm sorry Nick. The children, I'm so sorry."
The agreement is just one year in length, and the Reds still plan to commit to MLB Media long-term.
The newly reorganized regional sports networks now have broadcast rights for eight MLB teams.
With the calendar reaching 2025, the former Diamond Sports Group is no more with the RSN owner now Main Street Sports Group.
The deal also includes exclusive rights to broadcast 10 spring training games.
"My partner @SeverinoMLB who was as well prepared as any broadcaster I’ve ever worked with will not be coming back."
"I gave the broadcast and the audience everything I had, every night, for 7 years."
The resurrection of Diamond Sports and the Comcast spinoff are both signs that the cable TV universe may not be dead just yet.
In-market fans of NBA and NHL teams broadcast on the FanDuel Sports Networks may soon have single-game options.
Unsurprisingly, MLB and the Atlanta Braves have objected to the reorganization plan from Diamond Sports as it tries to emerge from bankruptcy.
