College Football Playoff semifinal ratings were down 25 percent year-over-year, and non-New Year’s Day games may be a reason why

The 16.8 and 19.1 million viewers this year were a major drop from 26.8 and 21.2 in last year's CFP semifinal games, which were on New Year's Day.
