McMurphy posted on X that SMU was in over Alabama at 11:59 a.m. ET, one minute before ESPN started their CFP reveal show.

McMurphy appearing on ESPN was a surprise after they ignored the Urban Meyer story for almost four hours.
For the second time in less than a year, an ESPN personality has said on-air McMurphy still works there. He was one of the many cuts in the April 2017 layoffs.
This will be McMurphy's first gig since being laid off at ESPN last spring.
