CM Punk: Pro wrestling press conferences are ‘cringe’
"The problem you have with pro wrestling is anybody with a Twitter calls themselves a reporter."
"The problem you have with pro wrestling is anybody with a Twitter calls themselves a reporter."
"Never did I ever think that my life would be in danger doing this show."
This will be one of Punk's first interviews since going back to WWE in November.
"I knew he wanted me to go."
Host Brandon Contes interviews MMA reporter Ariel Helwani. Brandon and Ariel discuss a wide range of topics including...
"I know a lot has been said and written about their intentions. I feel like their intentions are to put on the biggest events, to grow the sport."
"The only thing that isn't collectively up is fighter pay. Does that not strike you as being a little bit off?"
"They were obsessed with getting all the scoops away from me, and making my life difficult, making me feel unwelcome. It drove them nuts that I'm at the event, representing ESPN with that microphone."
"How do you people live like this?"
"You have an agenda, or a problem against me for whatever reason. Every chance you get you are taking shots at me."
"This is quite literally a dream come true for me."
"Good luck with the unbiased journalism."
"I can guarantee you, if it was any other sports owner, any other executive, he would be raked over the coals"
"I was ready to go for this show. Potentially both TV and radio, same time.”
"If you would have told that kid all these years later, 19 years later, that I would return as a correspondent..."
"All my goals were so I could make some money, and hopefully get my family some freedom. The kicking aspect just ended up being the right one."
Why would ESPN not go higher? Well, it's complicated.
"I want to let you know that there's no hard feelings here."
"I love how Ariel Helwani made it all about him. It was all about him. Such a douche."
Helwani gave a passionate speech about what he thinks the Raptors' win meant to Canada.
"Now, what has happened is Disney sees 'Oh, there's money to be made in MMA,' and Disney's buying everything, and ESPN's buying everything, and now we're telling you that the violence is okay. It wasn't okay before, but now the violence is okay, and now we sell it to you with ESPN+."
Helwani told AA how his once-strong relationship with White is now "non-existent."
This further adds to Twitter's sports studio shows.
