The UEFA Women’s Euro tournament is reaching a far wider audience this year than in previous iterations as it receives broadcast network exposure for the first time in its history.
Through the first 10 matches of the 2025 Women’s Euro, Fox Sports is averaging 359,000 viewers per match across Fox and FS1. That figure more than doubles the average Group Stage viewership in 2022, when the tournament largely aired on ESPN2 and ESPNU (161,000 viewers).
Saturday’s match between France and England has led the way thus far. France’s 2-1 win averaged 690,000 viewers on Fox, up 329% versus the Group Stage average from 2022.

Comparing this year’s tournament with 2022 is certainly apples-to-oranges. The reach of Fox’s broadcast network is far wider than that of ESPN2 and ESPNU. But Fox should be given credit for pushing this event out to a wider audience. Similar to how the network has placed women’s college basketball and women’s college volleyball into prime windows on its broadcast network and been rewarded with strong viewership, the same is happening with the Women’s Euro.
Time and time again, networks have proven that if you build it, they will come. It’s safe to say many people likely didn’t even know this tournament existed three years ago when it aired on ESPN. But given a spotlight on Fox, many more people are aware of the tournament and tuning in.
The network has committed quality resources to the broadcasts as well, tabbing former USWNT stars like Carli Lloyd and Julie Ertz for studio coverage.
Prior to the tournament, Fox projected a 50% increase in viewership from 2022 to now. It’s safe to say that the network is looking at a multiple much higher than that when this tournament is all said and done.
