UEFA Champions League coverage on CBS has been known to get a little zany every now and again.
Host Kate Scott (née Abdo) and analysts Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher, and Micah Richards know how to chop it up with the best of ’em. But not even the most discerning Champions League viewer could have seen what was coming during the crew’s studio coverage for Wednesday’s matches.
Throughout the season, Richards has taken quite a liking to the French side Stade Brestois for, well, rather simplistic reasons. The team — often referred to simply as “Brest” — has been the subject of quite a few humorous moments for the CBS crew, and particularly Richards.
They really banned @MicahRichards from this segment and it’s probably for the Brest 🤷♂️ pic.twitter.com/kxHTEbATLQ

So the CBS analyst must have been pleased to hear that Brest had sent a handwritten note to the network’s Champions League crew alongside a pair of jerseys for him and Henry.
The catch? Thierry Henry’s jersey had his name written on the back while Micah Richards’ jersey had… something else.

That’s right. Stade Brestois presented Richards with a one-of-a-kind “Brest Lover” jersey, which he promptly donned over his dress shirt. “I’ve never been able to get me hands on Brest,” the Englishman Carragher chimed in, himself not receiving a jersey.
It’s a wonder that the team doesn’t sell these kits online. Surely they’d sell out in a heartbeat.
