Men in Blazers continues to expand its network.
Last year, the soccer media network added shows with Fabrizio Romano, Becky Sauerbrunn, and Sam Mewis. Notably, Mewis has taken on a leadership role as EIC of The Women’s Game Vertical and launched a podcast alongside Sauerbrunn and Lynn Williams. The network also boasts the podcast of United States Men’s National Team defender Tim Ream.
The network announced a new biweekly audio and video show on Thursday. It will feature USMNT captain Tyler Adams alongside Men in Blazers co-founder Roger Bennett (who’s taking on more with the site in the wake of co-founder Michael Davies stepping back to focus on Jeopardy! and Sony/Embassy Row work). Debuting next week, The Captain will explore Adams’ insights on the upcoming Copa America hosted by the U.S., as well as his personal and professional journeys.
With Adams set to take center stage, he’ll build on his prior appearances with Men in Blazers. After recovering from his second hamstring surgery in seven months, talks about Adams returning to the network intensified. A renewed interest stems from the upcoming 2026 World Cup, which will be held in North America and be an exciting prospect for Adams and Co.
Here’s more of what Adams and Bennett told Sportico about the upcoming project:
“To be able to navigate the 2022 World Cup through his eyes was, for me and so many of our listeners, just a deeply enriching listen,” Bennett said. “To be able to do this in the run-up to the Copa and beyond—there’s no project I’d rather be involved with.”
“The biggest thing for me is allowing people to have a deep dive into not just my life but how much I’ve changed over the past year and a half,” Adams said. “I don’t think there’s anybody better than Rog to pull that out of me in the best way possible. The conversations that we have are meaningful, and they’re real.”
Plenty of athletes are hosting their podcasts these days, so it makes sense for Adams to go that route. His status as the captain of the USMNT and previous experience with a series of appearances on the media network undoubtedly fits in with the Men in Blazers brand, seemingly making this an ideal partnership.
