Here’s a look at the English and Spanish TV and radio broadcasting assignments for Super Bowl LIX on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025, plus Fox, ESPN, and NFL Network’s day-long programming plans and some analysis of the game itself and the broadcasting plans. All times are Eastern.
Super Bowl LIX | Caesars Superdome, New Orleans
Kansas City Chiefs (AFC No. 1 seed, 15-2, 2-0 postseason) vs. Philadelphia Eagles (NFC No. 2 seed, 14-3, 3-0 postseason)
Fox, Fox Deportes, Telemundo, Tubi (free stream of the Fox coverage without authentication), 6:30 p.m.
It’s been quite the road to this Super Bowl, a rematch of 2023’s Super Bowl LVII in Arizona, where the Chiefs won 38-35. They’re 1 to 1.5-point favorites to pull off the three-peat here, so we could be in for a close game.
When Kansas City has the ball, Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce will be the center of attention. Mahomes’ 3,928 passing yards this regular season were a career-low for him as a starter, and he’s taken lots of criticism. And he only threw for 177 and 245 yards in the Chiefs’ two playoff games. But his performance down the stretch in the AFC championship was key to getting them here.
Meanwhile, there’s been much discussion about how much the 35-year-old Kelce has left in the tank. And he was held to two catches for 19 yards in that AFC championship win over the Bills. But he had seven receptions for 117 yards and a touchdown the week before against Houston and led the team with 823 receiving yards this season.
Despite their lofty record, the Chiefs’ offense was way down the list in points per game (22.6, 15th in the NFL) and yards per game (327.6, 17th). They’re up against a tough Eagles defense that allowed 278.4 yards per game (first) and 17.8 points per game (second). That’s part of why the over-under lines are coming in at a not-that-high 48.5 to 49.5 points.
On the other side of the ball, Eagles’ pivot Jalen Hurts has sparked lots of debate this year as well (sometimes from the same person on both sides). And he only threw for 2,903 yards this season, but added 630 rushing yards. The ground game may be key here, as Philadelphia also features Saquon Barkley, who led the league with 2,005 yards this season. We’ll see if the Kansas City defense (ninth overall with 320.6 yards allowed per game, eighth overall against the run with 101.8 rushing yards conceded per game) can keep them in check.
On the main Fox broadcasting side, all eyes will be on Tom Brady working his first Super Bowl, especially around all the discussion of his potential conflict of interest and restrictions given his Las Vegas Raiders’ ownership stake. He and Kevin Burkhardt placed 14th of 25 teams in our reader-voted announcer rankings this year, with many comments indicating a lower grade due to Brady’s work. But his recent work has won praise. We’ll see how he does under the bright lights.
