Matthew Berry’s new daily show on Roku will feature a second former ESPN star behind the bar.
According to Front Office Sports’ Michael McCarthy, Michelle Beadle has been named co-host of Pregame with Matthew Berry. The two-hour weekday program debuts Monday, Sept. 28, and will stream live for free on Roku from noon to 2 p.m. ET, with former college quarterback-turned-content creator Mo Hasan also joining the cast.
“I was driving from L.A. back to San Antonio for the offseason … when ‘MB’ called. Thinking it was Mike Breen, I picked up immediately. It was Berry. But he did have an offer I couldn’t refuse. The opportunity to do TV daily and laugh was a no-brainer,” Beadle told FOS. “Plus, if you don’t like it, Mo and I blame Matthew.”
The program will fill the midday window Rich Eisen vacated when he took his show to ESPN’s app and Disney+ last year, and Berry’s company, Fantasy Life, will produce it in an arrangement The Athletic’s Andrew Marchand likened to Pat McAfee’s setup with ESPN. The set is being billed as “Matthew Berry’s Bar,” and the show will cover the NFL, the day’s biggest games, sports betting and pop culture, with interviews featuring newsmakers from sports and entertainment.
The show will originate from Ross Production Services in Wallingford, Conn., about 25 miles from Bristol, with development and production support from Blue Duck Media, the company led by former ESPN and Fox Sports executive producer Gabe Goodwin, who launched Garbage Time with Katie Nolan, per McCarthy.
Beadle’s national profile took off during her time at YES Network, where she anchored studio coverage of the New Jersey Nets and hosted shows including Yankees on Deck and SportsLife NYC. ESPN hired her away in 2009 to co-host SportsNation with Colin Cowherd, and she spent three years there before leaving for NBC Sports in 2012, where she hosted The Crossover and anchored NBCSN’s coverage of the London Olympics. She returned to ESPN in 2014 for a second stint that included co-hosting Get Up and NBA Countdown before the network let her go in 2019.
Since leaving ESPN, Beadle has hosted a podcast for The Athletic, What Did I Miss?, which ran for 107 episodes before ending in 2022, and returned to the San Antonio Spurs, the team that gave her an internship in 1999, as a special correspondent on its local broadcasts. In October 2022, she became the host of Run It Back on FanDuel TV, and in 2023, she added a daily radio show, Beadle and Decker, with former MLB player Cody Decker on SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Radio.
That show came to an unceremonious end in 2025, when SiriusXM let Beadle and Decker go to make room for ESPN star Stephen A. Smith, who took over their 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. ET slot. SiriusXM botched the rollout, announcing Smith’s hire before telling Beadle and Decker their show was being replaced. In the aftermath, Beadle said the experience was a reminder that “we’re just all pieces of sh*t to someone.”
FanDuel TV renewed Run It Back for a fourth season in 2025, keeping Chandler Parsons and Lou Williams alongside Beadle, and the show has since added DeMarcus Cousins to the rotation. Beadle will continue hosting it on top of her new Roku role. Berry, likewise, will keep Fantasy Football Happy Hour going through Fantasy Life’s partnership with Audacy.
