  • The revelation of wrestler Jason Jordan as the son of WWE Hall of Famer and current RAW General Manager Kurt Angle propelled the Monday, July 17 of USA Network’s “WWE Raw” to its best viewership in 13 weeks (since Apr. 17’s 3.34 million) with an average of 3.16 million viewers from 8-11:09 p.m. The Monday night wrestling showcase has slightly rebounded its viewer figures after the conclusions of the NBA and NHL playoffs that took place this past spring.

  • The Chicago White Sox debut of the highly-touted infielder prospect Yoan Moncada was a boon to local Chiacgo TV ratings on Wednesday, July 19. CSN Chicago posted its second highest-rated White Sox game of the season (as of July 26) with a 2.2 local rating, 144 percent higher than the current 0.9 season average. The telecast peaked with a 2.6 rating (about 90,000 homes in the market) during Moncada’s second-inning at-bat. (Source: Chicago Tribune)

  • MLB Network’s live baseball game action (not counting look-in coverage during “MLB Tonight”) for July 17 & 19-23 averaged 204,000 viewers and 51,000 adults 18-49 from the twelve game showcase telecasts, down 10 percent (in viewers) and down 21 percent (in adults 18-49) from the year-ago week (July 19-23, 2016: average of 226,000 viewers/65,000 adults 18-49 from ten telecasts): also, down 15 percent (in viewers) from two years ago (July 21-25, 2015: average of 241,000 viewers from seven telecasts).

  • Golf Channel’s tournaments coverage from July 20-23:

    • The Open Championship (July 20-23; Golf Channel only): 569,000 viewers (-10 percent from July 14-17, 2016: 633,000 viewers)
    • PGA Tour: Barbasol Championship (July 20-23): 264,000 viewers (+5 percent from July 14-17, 2016: 252,000 viewers)
    • LPGA Tour: Marathon Classic (July 20-23 evenings): 261,000 viewers (-13 percent from June 14-17, 2016: 299,000 viewers)
