Jeremy Conley, a producer at Boston’s 98.5 The Sports Hub, passed away Friday night after a brief illness. He was 41.
The Boston sports radio station announced Conley’s passing on Friday afternoon, saying, “he will be deeply missed by all of us. Our condolences go out to Jeremy’s family and friends.” They did not share any specifics about his illness.
Conley started at 98.5 in 2011 as a member of its “street team” promotional unit before moving to production and climbing the ladder to executive producer. Executive producer of the station’s Patriots and Bruins coverage, he worked five New England Super Bowls during his tenure. He also previously worked as a producer on Boston Celtics broadcasts and the Adam Jones Show.

“Maybe you know Jeremy Conley’s name because Jeremy certainly had a presence here,” said Mark Bertrand, co-host of the Zolak and Bertrand midday show. “He was great at his job; he was great at what he did here, [and] everybody that ever worked with Jeremy knew that he was incredibly dependable and one of those people that, like so many of our producers, can handle it when something goes wrong.
“He wasn’t afraid to laugh, and if you got Jeremy Conley laughing … it was sort of validation that whatever the hell had just come out of your mouth was real and funny. We’ll miss him, we’ll miss his laugh, and we’ll miss everything that he brought to the job.”
As news of his passing spread, tributes poured in from coworkers, peers, and others in the Boston sports media industry.
