Sarah Spain’s role with the iHeart Women’s Sports Audio Network (WSAN) keeps growing.

The former ESPN host joined iHeartRadio in 2024 to help launch WSAN and was among the network’s initial crop of show hosts, which included hockey stars Madison Packer and Anya Packer, tennis Grand Slam winner Rennae Stubbs, WNBA legend Sheryl Swoopes, golf media personality Tisha Alyn, and media personality Khristina Williams.

Her Good Game with Sarah Spain podcast launched that July and has become a go-to destination for women’s sports journalists and luminaries such as Megan Rapinoe, Nancy Armour, Candace Parker, and Howard Megdal, amongst many others.

Thursday, Spain, who was awarded the 2025 Social Impact Award by iHeartRadio for her efforts in promoting equity in sports coverage, announced she would be taking her role with the company to the next level as its new Content Director.

“Thrilled to add this position to my work with iHeart, using my years of experience to help oversee strategic growth for the first-ever audio platform dedicated exclusively to women’s sports,” she wrote on LinkedIn. “I’ll help with executing and overseeing content and sponsorship strategy, pitching new sponsors, consulting on marketing and sponsorship campaigns, and developing creative content.”

Spain, also a member of the Gatorade Women’s Advisory Board, former minority owner of the Chicago Red Stars, and part of the community ownership of the USL’s Minnesota Aurora FC, continues to be at the forefront of women’s sports coverage at a time when it’s becoming more and more mainstream, and that growth appears only just to be getting started.
