More than a month after Danny Parkins departed 670 The Score for FS1, Audacy found his replacement from within, promoting Laurence Holmes to join Matt Spiegel in afternoon drive.
Last week, Spiegel’s former midday partner on 670 The Score, Jason Goff, revealed he was the station’s pick to replace Parkins, but they were unable to reach a contract agreement. The biggest point of contention, according to Goff, was that Audacy wanted him to give up his podcast deal with The Ringer, a demand he was understandably against. With Goff no longer an option, Audacy ultimately decided on moving Holmes from middays to afternoon drive alongside Spiegel.

“We’re thrilled to announce that Laurence Holmes will join Matt Spiegel to form our afternoon show pairing! Their debut show together is today at 2pm,” 670 The Score announced on social media Monday morning.
A Chicago sports media mainstay, Holmes has been with The Score since 1998 where he worked as a producer and part-time host before joining their weekday lineup in 2019. Holmes partnered with Dan Bernstein for The Score’s midday show in 2022, and now he’ll get a chance to make his mark in afternoon drive with Spiegel.
While the move solves their opening for afternoon drive, it creates a void in middays. Bernstein shared The Score’s announcement about Holmes Monday morning, noting, “exciting news on middays still to come, so stay tuned.” And two hours later, The Score announced a new co-host for Bernstein. No, it won’t be Barstool Eddie, but beginning Sept. 3o, Marshall Harris will join Bernstein in middays on The Score.
