The World Series is one of the biggest possible moments for any team’s local radio broadcast. But the Los Angeles Dodgers’ flagship station, AM 570, hit significant technical difficulties shortly before the first pitch of Game 5 Wednesday, causing them to have to direct people to a sister station or other means of listening:
We are currently experiencing technical difficulties here on AM 570 LA Sports.
To listen to tonight’s Game 5 on radio, hear the game on @KFIAM640 and @AM570LASports.

As you’d expect, that took some criticism.

Baseball on MUTE for me then.

The station didn’t post any further updates on this on X, so it’s unclear how long it was in effect. But it’s certainly unfortunate for a station to deal with that around one of their biggest potential broadcasts. And that’s also unfortunate for Dodgers’ fans; while there were alternate options here, including even an over-the-air sister station, some of those looking to listen to this broadcast may not have seen the update on how to find it. So this definitely caused some issues.
