Ruth, Gehirg, Dimaggio, Mantle — Costanza? This summer, George Costanza will indeed take his place as one of the many New York Yankees legends to receive his own bobblehead.
And let us tell you, it’s a doozy.
In the Season 8 episode appropriately named, “The Nap,” Seinfeld fans learned not only that George Costanza enjoys a midday nap at work (which to be fair, wasn’t exactly a revelation) but that he takes them very seriously. And with the help of Conrad the handyman, Costanza was able create a perfect spot for a nap underneath his desk at Yankee Stadium. This summer, that will be forever immortalized in a bobblehead.
On Aug. 21, the Yankees will host the rival Boston Red Sox. That will also be Seinfeld Night. The first 18,000 fans will receive a bobblehead of George Costanza sleeping under his desk. Included in the bobblehead is the timeless quote, “I love a good nap. Sometimes it’s the only thing getting me out of bed in the morning.”

It’s as close to a perfect promotional giveaway as there is.
Though, we do have one nitpick. If the goal is to truly honor the spirit of George Costanza, the bobblehead should not go to the first 18,000 fans to arrive, but the last.
