Taylor Swift is many things.
Among them is self-aware.
That much was made clear in the new teaser for her highly anticipated appearance on New Heights, which will be released at 7 p.m. ET on Wednesday night. In the clip, the “Shake It Off” singer sits beside her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, as his brother, Jason Kelce, performs a pro wrestling-style introduction for perhaps the most highly anticipated podcast guest in the platform’s history.
“Thanks for having me on my favorite podcast,” Swift says after being welcomed to the show by Travis. “As we all know, you guys have a lot of male sports fans that listen to your podcast. And I think we all know that if there’s one thing that male sports fans want to see in their spaces and on their screens, it’s more of me.”

Swift’s comment comes in reference to the almost immediate backlash directed at her from a certain section of sports fans who have taken issue with the amount of airtime her presence at Kansas City Chiefs games has received. In the time since she and Travis first began dating in 2023, it’s been common to hear complaints about broadcasts constantly cutting away from the game to show her in a suite, even if she hasn’t actually been focused on as often as they’d have you believe.
Was there a lot of attention paid to to the Kelce-Swift relationship early on in their courtship? Of course. And that seems understandable considering that one of the NFL’s most famous players was dating the world’s biggest music star. But all things considered, their relationship was much more low key throughout the 2024 campaign and the couple has largely been absent from the spotlight throughout most of the ongoing offseason.
That, however, appears to be changing, with Taylor using her New Heights appearance to announce her highly anticipated upcoming album, “The Life of a Showgirl.” Meanwhile, Travis Kelce was recently featured in a profile (and accompanying photoshoot) for GQ, in which he admitted that his Hollywood ambitions may have hampered his on-field performance.
Yet despite Kelce insisting that he’s fully focused on winning another Super Bowl, it sure seems like America’s most famous couple is kicking off some sort of publicity tour. And that begins with the upcoming episode of New Heights, which has already become one of the most talked-about podcast episodes ever before it has even been published.
