Jordan Peele, who has struck box office gold producing or directing several creative horror films in recent years, has a title and release date for his newest offering.
Universal and Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions announced that the psychological horror film Him is scheduled for release on Sept. 19, 2025. Peele will produce the film.
Previously going under the working title GOAT, the film follows the story of an aging star quarterback, played by Marlon Wayans, mentoring a rising star (Tyriq Withers). Those training sessions take place at the legendary quarterback’s isolated compound, which sounds like the type of scary setting Peele used to great effect in the three horror thrillers he’s directed, Get Out, Us and Nope.
Universal 9 billed it as a “blood-chilling journey into the inner sanctum of fame, power and the pursuit of excellence at any cost.”
Other cast members previously announced for the film are Julia Fox, Tim Heidecker, comedian Jim Jefferies. The film will also. serve as the acting debut for hip-hop stars Guapdad 4000 and Grammy nominee Tierra Whack,
Of course, Peele’s films always feature a shocking twist, and speculation has run wild as to what that twist could be in Him. Not all of the speculation on social media is entirely serious.
