When you think of reasons why Donald Trump defied the exit poll predictions to win the 2024 presidential election decisively, Barstool Sports’ Bussin’ With The Boys probably isn’t top of mind.
During Trump’s victory speech, however, Dana White made sure to give Bussin’ With The Boys a shoutout, along with some of the other podcasts with growing cultural influence that hosted the now president-elect during his campaign.

“Nobody deserves this more than him, and nobody deserves this more than his family does,” White said of Trump after being handed the microphone. “This is what happens when the machine comes after you, what you’ve seen over the last several years. This is what it looks like. Couldn’t stop him. He keeps going forward. He doesn’t quit. He’s the most resilient, hardworking man I’ve ever met in my life. His family are incredible people. This is karma, ladies and gentlemen. He deserves this. They deserve it as a family. I want to thank some people. Real quick. I want to thank the NELK Boys, Adin Ross, Theo Von, Bussin’ With The Boys. And last but not least, the mighty and powerful Joe Rogan.”
Trump joined Will Compton and Taylor Lewan for a one-hour interview on Bussin’ With The Boys last month. The interview garnered enough pushback for Compton to respond to the Washington Post’s request for comment with a fart.
While it was surprising to hear some of the above podcasts and names garner praise during Trump’s victory speech in Florida early Wednesday morning, it’s indicative of the media influence they hold. Trump was the first presidential candidate in nearly 50 years to skip out on an interview with 60 Minutes. But he did interviews with Bussin’ With The Boys, Theo Von and Joe Rogan. Similarly, Kamala Harris’s campaign saw the Democratic candidate prioritize interviews with Club Shay Shay and All the Smoke.
