Craig Carton launching show on Fox’s OutKick

Craig Carton is spearheading another attempt at building a national audience, this time by launching a show for Fox’s OutKick.

According to the announcement from Variety, The Craig Carton Show will premiere on OutKick Sept. 8, with new episodes airing every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

“I’m beyond thrilled to be joining OutKick. I’ve always been a fan and appreciate their authenticity and willingness to speak their minds,” Carton said in a statement to Variety. “It’s something I’ve done throughout my career and will do during this next chapter of hosting ‘The Craig Carton Show.’”

The new show on OutKick will not take Carton away from hosting afternoon drive on WFAN with Chris McMonigle. Carton returned to WFAN in January, his third tenure as a prominent on-air personality on the heritage sports radio station in New York.

Carton has been massively successful in local radio throughout his career, but he’s yet to find similar ratings consistency with national audiences. Carton, however, has now had a lengthy partnership with Fox, even though his shows and platforms keep changing.

In 2022, Carton launched his first morning show on FS1, which eventually lured him away from WFAN in 2023. After several revamps, Carton’s FS1 show was cut last year amid the network partnering with Barstool Sports and overhauling its morning lineup, prompting his return to WFAN.

Despite losing his morning TV show, Carton remained with Fox, launching a daily podcast with Red Seat Ventures last year. With no new episodes since June, Carton recently confirmed his podcast with Red Seat Ventures came to an end, only for The Craig Carton Show to now launch as part of another Fox owned entity in OutKick.

Like his Red Seat Ventures podcast, the latest iteration of The Craig Carton Show will still feature discussions on sports and culture. Tyrone Johnson, who was a regular part of the Red Seat Ventures version of The Craig Carton Show, was not named in the OutKick announcement.
