Bill Simmons sent a clear message to Peter Schrager this week: Don’t bother reaching out because you’re banned.
Perhaps jokingly, perhaps not, The Sports Guy banned the rising ESPN star from his show after appearing on Tuesday’s episode of Pardon My Take, while not responding to outreach to appear on The Bill Simmons Podcast.
“The Rams, who we found out today from Peter Schrager, who’s banned from this podcast,” Simmons said on Friday’s show, “He went on Pardon My Take, didn’t come on here…”
“I parlayed the Niners +3.5 with Schrager not coming on the podcast this week but going on a different one,” Simmons continued. “My friend. He shouldn’t text us for a while, I’ll just say that.”
When one of his co-hosts, Joe House, asked if Schrager could make it up to them, Simmons ratcheted things up a notch.
“He’s in the shit house,” said Simmons. “He’s on the shit list. He’s on my shit list now. He’s gotta really make it up.
“Upsetting. He had a new thing to promote; I’m not even going to promote it now. Whatever. Schrager’s up to stuff; good luck to him.”

Schrager does indeed have something to promote: his new ESPN show, Big Day with Peter Schrager. Perhaps he was too busy putting that together to make time for a visit. Or, perhaps, there’s something more sinister at play.
Schrager’s lack of recent appearances on the pod has clearly been gnawing at Simmons for a bit.
“Schrager won’t come on my podcast anymore. It’s like team ESPN now…turned down multiple invitations”
No more Schrager on the pod would be devastating

“… Schrager won’t come on my podcast anymore,” Simmons said on the August 31 episode of his show. “It’s like Team ESPN now. Still friends with him. Friendly. But just won’t come on.
“Schrags turned down multiple invitations.”
Is this all a work? A shoot? A work-shoot? Brother, who knows. We can only hope that these two star-crossed sports personalities can find their way back to one another.
