Peacock is raising its prices, again.

The NBC-owned streaming service is hiking rates across the board for every subscription tier, effective immediately, according to a report by Todd Spangler in Variety. Peacock Premium (with ads) will now be priced at $12.99 per month, up $2 from its previous monthly price. Peacock Premium Plus (without ads) will now be $19.99 per month, a $3 increase over its prior price tag. And Peacock Select, a limited offering that does not include movies, live sports, or Peacock originals, will now cost $8.99 per month, up $1 over its former price.

The latest price hike comes just over one year after the last time Peacock raised prices for its service. In July 2025, Peacock raised the price of its ad tier from $7.99 per month to $10.99 per month. That same package will now cost consumers $12.99 per month just 13 months later.

Of course, Peacock’s increased pricing coincides with two new major live sports acquisitions from NBC. The network just completed its first season of NBA broadcasts, which includes Peacock-exclusive games during the regular season and playoffs. NBC will pay an average of $2.45 billion per year for NBA rights over the course of its 11-year deal with the league. This spring, NBC also began a new three-year media rights deal with MLB to broadcast Sunday Night Baseball worth a reported $200 million annually. That package also includes the Wild Card Round, where some games will be exclusive to Peacock.

Peacock is certainly not alone in raising prices; Netflix, HBO Max, Apple TV, and Paramount+ have all done the same in the last two years. But Peacock’s price increases have been far more dramatic than its peers. The streamer has gone from being one of the most affordable on the market to one priced in alignment with other premium streamers. Those price increases coinciding with the addition of Tier 1 sports rights, which is some of the most premium content available, are not a coincidence.

Still, the rate of increase will not be welcomed by consumers, who continue to be forced into difficult decisions about which services to keep and which services to drop.

The silver lining for sports fans that need Peacock programming is that there are other options. Several pay-TV bundles include Peacock at no additional cost. YouTube TV subscribers can view Peacock-exclusive sports on the relaunched NBCSN. Or, beginning in early 2027, users will be able to access Peacock within YouTube Premium for a combined price of $15.99 per month.
