After the 2024 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament received record levels of interest, On3 is making moves.
On Wednesday, the Shannon Terry-founded sports media company announced that it is launching a women’s sports vertical, On3 HER, headlined by the hiring of Talia Goodman. The daughter of longtime men’s college basketball insider Jeff Goodman, Talia previously wrote for TheNextHoops.com, Rivals.com affiliate Peegs.com and the Hoosier Network.
“Admittedly, I have not done an acceptable job of building Women’s HS and College Sports media and creating opportunities for female sports writers and insiders over the past three decades. That is one of several things we get to correct with On3,” wrote Terry, who also founded Rivals and 247Sports. “We are adding Women’s sports as a primary focus and will hire and create many new career opportunities as we expand the On3 HER brand.
“Our first addition, @TaliaGoodmanWBB, has amazing talent and passion for the job and has been mentored by one of the best in media. Talia is a future star reporter. On3 is very excited about this new journey. There will be other announcements for On3 HER soon.”

To Terry’s point, national coverage of women’s college sports had largely been lacking across the industry and left many outlets playing catchup as this year’s NCAA Tournament — highlighted by Caitlin Clark and Iowa’s second straight run to the national title game — set ratings records. It will be interesting to see how many resources Terry and On3 pour into the vertical moving forward, as well as how many other competing outlets potentially follow suit.
